We skyped about this E, so here is what I've thought up so far.
1-When viewing photos it'd be nice to have a next/ back type button.
2-In light of the number of Korean friends we have who use the sight, and in view of it being KOREA on the rocks, some bilingual naviagtional prompts would be sweet. I've got all that pre-translated and ready to go.
3-A UCC type video input area where short video files (for instruction or fun) could be posted would be nice.
4-A new more interactive and dynamic homepage.
5-Forum Threads to show the 3 most recent topics. Too many get buried and lost when one is added.
6-Get rid of, or compact the non-climbing realated threads.
7-Have an interactive map, that has the climbing locales marked on it, as well as the cities and roads. So if the cursor was on Kyeongi-Do it would highlight the crags there or something etc.
8-Intoduce a membership fee that gets deposited directly into my bank account. Say 20,000won a person each year...I mean c'mon that's great value! What's to object to?! Well...it was worth a try.

One more thing that would be super sweet and lovely!!! Could KOTR have a picture/ photo upload tool that automatically resized photos...like the way hotmail attaches photo files...it automatically reduces any picture to an optimal size (say 900kB). This would save me hours of resizing and then uploading.
Oh and how about when viewing mail in the pm inbox, if we could have a next key there too...as well as in the photo viewing pages.
Thanks.

wishlist: a way to delete threads (outdated, mistaken and unresponded to) or change title info. . . the auto-resizer when we're uploading too-big files sounds dandy (did I type dandy?:suspiciou ) and as Jake suggested, I second #s 3, 5, 6, 7 (I sooo feel like I'm ordering Chinese!!) As for #8. . really Jake:rolleyes8 maybe a button that allowed you to deposit beer right into Eric's fridge. . . but if that were possible, I suspect we'd've seen it long ago:bigdrink:

One more vague idea. If you want to re-organize the Forums Page, maybe having a sub-area info & chat on climbing areas outside of Korea - but still for KOTRers. A lot of us have hols where we go to Thailand, China, Vietnam, Nepal etc. This might keep these topics all bundled. Also a tool to re-designate a thread (even if only for your use), in case someone submitted a thread into an inappropriate area, then it could be re-placed where it belongs.

Hey E I forgot this from the UNIMD meet the other day, would it be easy to have the KMPL logo next to their link at the bottom of the page in the same way as ESL HQ and ARK do? That one comes from Shawn. I like the reorganization on the forums too BTW.

suggestion: please add a teleport button on the crag listings so KOTR members can instantly appear at any crag listed on the site...ooohh...and a 'tag' that will select and teleport other KOTR members.
please let me know when this is ready. thank you,
-ricardo

thanks for the suggestion, rick.

i am working on the 'Instant Free Beer Delivery ®' system as well as the 'Make Me a 5.14 Climber ®' function. i'll start the teleporting system in a few weeks after i complete the much sought after 'Remove the Snow, Stop the Rain and Make it Warm but Not Hot ®' and 'Make me Ripped ®' systems.

We'll need a 2009 listing on the photo-plog too.

Don't know if this is a good idea or just a waste of time, but I think it would be good to have a list of members by region. Click on a region and see who's currently in that area.

Could be good to get betta on the area if you are planning to travel there... and you could invite the locals along if you plan to climb there. Who know's, they could even invite you to crash at their place free of charge?

I know this info is available on the Members List, but you'd have to scroll through the whole list to see where everyone is. Just a thought.... whatdya think?

I think it could be agood idea, but I think members would want an opt in/out check box in case they wanted some privacy thingy. Like when you sign up you can allow (or block) your location to be added to a members by area sub-file thing, with the option of changing this status later (by the member).

Also and seeing as how we are getting more and more international attentions (climbers from Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam etc) I think having a separate sub forum under "Community" called "Climbing Overseas" or something like that would be a good place for people to keep info on non-Korean climbing locales, trips, beta and so on. New threads for each trip or area/ country would keep things neat. What do you reckon?
