Anything Near Kunsan?

Hi all. I'm fairly new to Korea, stationed here w/ the Air Force. Is there any real climbing around here? I went to a quarry nearby, but didn't find anything worth climbing. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Developed/Undeveloped/Bouldering....anything is fine.

hey i'm stationed at kunsan as well. i'm new to the game but interested in getting out there as well. a friend of mine who has been teaching me says there are a few places around to climb. i'm pretty sure that i know what quarry you're talking about. right outside the gate and a quick ride on a mountain bike. we were thinking about rappelling over there. the weather was obviously bad today so that was cancelled. hit me up on here so that we can get our emails lined out. i don't wanna put my address out here for everyone to see.

I may be in Kunsan shortly and am very interested in climbing, which I do quite a bit of, and have done in the past at Kunsan, but that was too long ago to remember specific places. How can I reach you if/when I get in town? Thanks.

if you're air force, my name is dylan ransom, and you can figure out the rest of the address, or look it up in the global. I'm with ammo flight (phone 4366). The quarry out there looks like it would hold a couple good routes, but not worth mailing my drill and gear over. It's granite, and was at one time overlooking a small lake, which was mostly drained. From the small section that's not quarried, it looks like it must have been one hell of a beautiful cliff. It's a shame it was quarried in such a half-assed ghetto way, leaving tons of killer blocks and such. I did spot a little sandstone while taking a bike ride south of the base. It's maybe a 20 minute ride, and though I couldn't get to the rock (took the wrong road), it looks like it could hold some relatively nice bouldering, but I'd have to explore it up close.
