Soon to be new to Korea

Hi all!
My name is Travis, and I will be in Seoul, Korea from mid-May till mid-August, teaching SAT prep. I'm an avid climber from Nevada, and am excited about the possibilities in Korea..Im hoping to get to know some people here so I can get on the rock ASAP once i'm in the country--I dig sport, trad, bouldering, whatever...I would be up for climbing weekends, before and after work too, and at night (headlamps?) Hope to link up!

You'll find plenty of good people and climbing here, I think. Just keep an eye on the upcoming trips forum around the time you'll be coming. I'd be happy to meet you in Seoul for the trip to where ever, though I think you'll find travel here to be a piece of cake compared to, oh, I don't know, some other country you might have lived in for a while.

Yeah it will be a sweet climbing season then. Though the late summer can get wet and humid, you should find plenty of climbing in and around Seoul. Everyweekend is a climbing weekend. There will be other KOTR folks (and plenty of Koreans too!) at crags, gyms, boulders all the time. Check out the search climb tool on the sidebar and look under Seoul area.
Classic areas in clude Insubong (trad slab/crack), Dobongsan (Trad slab/ crack), O2 world Palace of ice (indoor rock and ice climbig 365!), Namhansanseong (overhung sport), Ttukseom wall (artificial outdoor wall) and so much more. Nearby Ganhyeon, Moraksan Boulder Town, Jobiam...you are set.
Invite yourself alongf to any of the trips posted in the upcoming trips thread. The more the merrier, just turn up with your rack.

well, i've filled out my profile and am coming late friday night to seoul...trying to see if possible to go climbing on saturday (though i may be exhausted/blown) -- if not then, sunday...hope to see some of you all there...
