between the sheer beauty of Maisan this weekend, seeing old friends and new (even my Korean teacher 박경영 and her family Sat!!), getting useful book beta. . . good food, good drink. . .

OK, really it was the deep-******* belly laughs Sunday that brought the other tears to my eyes (or maybe it was all the beautiful flowers I am alergic to?)! I an a little nostalgic for old friends (Yats, Joshi) and yet some of those old friends were there! (Mike, Rick) with Heidi and Dave so perfectly complementing the group. . . and y'all are just so (in the words of everyone who was climbing) ******* funny!

OK, so I only jumarred (does jumarred have two r's?? Mike-- don't answer that!) . . . and I didn't even get to re-watch the Mormon Southpark!
It's the most fun I ever had with a broken foot. . . which for me is pretty good! and that's without a single bong on 4/20:p . . it was a beautiful and crass and amazing weekend! thanks to everyone who brought food from the base. . . oh, I mean to everyone who turned up!

i could cry too!!
my f-ing mechanic didn't put a gasket in the oil pan drain plug so now my car is dead at an SK in jeonju with (probably) a seized engine. despite the continuous comedy of errors this weekend i still had a fun time...up until the last error...

we made it back okay thanks to chris. It really sucks that a 99 cent part caused all this trouble.

Well. . . glad you got home. . . and are in reasonably good spirits. . . when I meant seems like old times. . . I didn't mean the car-troubled-times! Thankfully Jake and KA are only a phone call away. . .
. . . hoping for the best. . .

well, there was another leak which caused the excessive drainage...which he may have said to excuse himself from liability. who f-ing knows...the engine is shot. new car/fix engine...new car/fix engine...

jake, you and kyung ah are a godsend! you two are welcome down here anytime...even for what you were hinting at. ;)

sonia, when i got home and read your post about old friends and memories the fan belt fiasco was the first thing i thought of...and the first thing i mentioned to jake when i called.

dave, if you tell me i should have stopped earlier i'm going to kick your @$$! considering we coasted 20 clicks down the highway towards salvation/gas station with the engine off...i thought the cosmos was on our side. apparently not. i truly appreciate you checking out the underbelly (and getting totally greased up) to assess the problem. (nice title by the way!)

I don't remember what I was hinting at, but if you mean the thing with full body chocolate painting, pink feather boas and a new use for our climbing ropes...sure we are still down. Thanks!
Seriously, I feel bad that you've had car trouble like this twice...but on the flipside I'm glad as hell we could help out however little. Next time you should breakdown right at Daejeon on a Fri or Sat night so we can help face to face and then drink the pain away together!
