Thanks for all those folk who came out and helped make for a stunningly good weekend. Jess, Kris, Nic and Les - really geat to see you guys again after such a long time. Dusty and Rebecca, hope to catch up with you guys again soon too, nice moves on the routes over right of the cave! Big kudos to Sigi who sent her 1st 2 outdoor leads at the G also:rockon: . Top work, done in style. Good to get Kat(rina), our newest Daejeon based KOTRer, out on some Korean rock too. Hope you had a good time, even if the wind was a tad chilly atop the 3rd pitch. Joe (승천형!) thanks man for pushing me to lead up those pitches, and waiting with patience while I hang-dogged and whimped my way slowly upwards - and for cooking the ramen at the end of it all! It's amazing what you can feel capable of with such a positive and upvibed crew around.
The day had some interesting moments....the tangle of ropes and 6 people at the 2nd pitch anchors (see photos!), being 1 belay tool short (requring some improvised munter and double munter belays/ rapps), getting some great (and much appreciated) beta from Ms. Kim Myeong Seon? (김명선?) from the Suyu climb team (where Dusty and Reb are members) if you guys see her say thanks and best wishes to her again for me.

a bad day climbing is better than a good working . . . so what does that make a great day like that at Ganhyeon? Awesome. Spring is heeere! The coal fires are out, the foreigners with tank tops are in :) Every weekend is a meetn'greet.
Yes, that Myeongsun woman just became my new hero! There I was, trembling in fear, AID climbing that blank section; she just glides up, sets up anchor, and perched with one foot on the rock and the rest of her sinewy body pointing toward the abyss below, literally hauls up the rest of her crew.

anyway, I do like Ganhyeon.

It wasn't that cold I think my Maine blood must be thickening. I really appreciate the vibe everyone shared, the interesting moments only added to the fun, and I look forward to meeting even more folks.
