Albawi, the main moderate crag at Maisan could use some rebolts. . . the way the park has been revamping: new buildings, bathrooms, campgrounds. . . and the way they allow climbers to drive in, maybe they would kick in?! Anyway, in some cases, the old bolts and hangers are OK-- but the clamped wires are corroding (well, the clamps:eek8: ) and I don't know if I can aptly describe the blossoming mold on the rope that forms some of the death triangles. In other cases the hangers are so corroded you really want to go back to that last bolt. . . in some cases there are brand new chain anchors or at least non-death triangles from webbing.
Has anyone found chains in Korea? I need to dig mine out when I organize the car:o some really nice lines-- multipitches with amazing views-- but really, since most of the bolts seemed shiny and solid, why the anchors were seeming rust is beyond me. . . the rusting fishhooks, some of them gateless, though, are just downright scary. . . even for Korea. . . definitely ranking with Yongseo. A lot of Koreans from Iksan Wonkgwnag U (met them there twice), Jinju (also met twice) and all over come to Maisan, maybe it's something a joint group could do?
