Putting together a ski/snowboarding trip form the 19-21st of January, probably going to head to Muju so if you got an itch to get out on the slopes get in touch. As of right now the Plan is to get as many people as possible to go and cram in to a Min-Bak and ski/snowboard to our harts content.

Come to Muju! I'll be there, and I think Dan from Jeju-do will too. It's a lovely place...

sounds good to me. i think i'm going to be there this weekend as well with a few mokpo kids, although it's not a sure thing - if anyone is interested in hopping in on that, let me know.

alas... I think Dan and I are going to go ice climbing that weekend instead... Yeong Dong last weekend was so cool, I just can't pass it up!!

And after a 16 day vacation in Vietnam, plus a trip to Japan coming up this month, free camping and free climbing would be a lot better for my wallet too : )

Have a blast guys!!

a potential joiner asked me how much money he could expect to be spending this weekend... and i had no idea. i know we're planning on finding cheap-ish accommodation off the mountain, but what about gear? anyone know how much rentals cost?

Lift tickets are supposed to be 32,000 won per day and ski and boot rental is 18,000 won per day and snowboard rental is 21,000 won per day. I am either looking at getting a minbak which are availible for 50,000 won per night in town or trying to find a Love Motel for around 30,000 and just craming everyone into it. I'm all about cheap so we will be brining food for lunch and breakfast with us and probably only eating dinner out.

where are you getting the 32k won deal??? can others get in?
according to lifeinkorea.com (http://www.lifeinkorea.com/Travel2/ncholla/52) lift tickets are 51k for daytime (8:30-4:30). i couldn't find any prices on the official site though.
my phone # is still the same.

i'd be wary of that site...it's a hong kong travel agency that says muju is all natural snow.

Rick if you had a choice of Muju or Dragon Valley where would you go?

I'm headed to YongPyong hopefully on the 19th. It was with a group of people, but some have backed out. Still trying to pin it down to YongPyong or High1 (maybe even Phoenix). I'd rather go north for more snow, been some recent flurries up here. If anyone happens to change venues, or will be northerly, drop me a line.

muju without a doubt. but that's mainly b/c it's 1.5 hours from my house. i think they're pretty much the same so it all depends on your location.
how the hell have you been mike? didn't know you were still around...

due to ridiculuse military bullshit  , i will not be able to head down saturday and i am not sure if i will be able to get down sunday either. I think that maybe i will just not make plans anymore to do anything. it seems the last few trips i have planned got tottaly shut down. I will keep you all updated when i know if i will be able to leave base. Dalton should still be heading down to meet you all tomorrow.

just to check - for saturday, are people still getting in around noon? that's my plan.

I don't really know anything about rental places or tickets, either, but I assume that's obvious once I get there?

ricardo
01-18-2008, 07:17 PM
it's all pretty obvious. the ticket booth faces the main parking lot and the rentals is inside that building...or next to it. if you park at a satelite lot, look for the busses.
