With relatively unsuccessful girlie shirt threads, a few of us have decided to just bite the proverbial bullet and order what we know we like:

We are getting the Lola Sport Top in black. After we get them we will have them screen printed here in Korea. If you want to get in on this, you need to contact me for my bank account info and wire the money to my account by TUESDAY 12/4 at 12NOON. We know this is short notice, but we're tired of hemming and hawing--we just want our girlie KOTR shirts, so we're making it happen. Finally.

When are you going to get them printed? I actually might buy this top when I'm home for Christmas, but I can't stomach paying that much money for something I haven't tried on yet.

We were hoping to get them printed ASAP (i.e. most likely before Christmas or shortly there after).

Wouldn't it be possible for us to buy a different type? Or from a discounter?
I'd also want to know a lot before coughing up $50 plus printing costs:
Mostly: What is the design? How/where will it fit on the shirt?
How much is the printing cost per piece?

How/where will it be printed?
The selected shirt is 87%nylon, 13%lycra so heat methods are off the table. Screen methods usually result in a few misses, thus we'd need extras.

The built-in shelf bra and moulded fit are going to further complicate any screen printing. . .

For larger women, while the shirt is much cheaper at campmor (32.99 L, XL), it gets really bad online reviews for larger chested women (not that that bothers me, but if you're thinking of shelling out $60 or more for a shirt. . .)

I'd love to have a KOTR girl's shirt for Vietnam, god knows I bought enough of Eric's shirts for myself, as gifts, etc! But I could see touch try them and they were WAY cheaper.

Sonia,

Essentially Amanda, Ariel, Rachel and I want shirts ASAP. The women's threads weren't very useful as there was a big disparity in how much people wanted to spend, style, fabric, etc. Finding something that everyone liked and was willing to pay for wasn't panning out. We decided we liked this shirt, we want it, and we are willing to pay whatever it costs to have it printed. (We will have a small KOTR logo on the lower left hip, and a larger chic climber logo on the back.) If it turns out that printing on this shirt is going to be a total pain in the A$$, we still have a great shirt that we love from a company that makes great products.

We were putting this out there to see if anyone wanted to get in on what we were doing, NOT to negotiate styles, prices, etc. If you want in, contact me. If you aren't cool with the shirt for whatever reason, don't buy it--get something else. If you aren't sure you want to commit to screen printing costs (and potential risks), well I'm not sure what to tell you. We are not in a position to fork over cash for a bulk order and then not have them sell. That's a responsibility none of us are willing to take.

I don't think it would be a big deal to get your own shirt and then send it to me (or any of the other girls) and have it printed when we get ours done. We absolutely are not intending to be elitist or anything, we just decided that if we want this to happen we needed to make decisions and DO it. So we did and are.

this sounds cool. . . let me know when you contact a printer (and get me a snail mail address to send the shirt) if it's when I'm out of town and I can get you the printing cost!

BTW: I (nor anyone else) didn't think you were being elitist. . . I was just wondering about the maybe-not-so-obvious-to-some things that might be a glitch. I have some experience getting shirts made up (in the US) and I wasn't sure if you'd considered the fabric, methods, etc. Maybe prevent future disappointment, esp with such a cost. If it turns out to be a pain/impossible to get other/different shirts printed, that's OK, too!

Do you have a design picked out? I've tried on some Prana stuff in the past and it tends not to fit me, but if I like the design and it was possible to send a different shirt to get printed I'd love to do that.

Way to go girls! Just wanted to wish you luck getting whatever designs made up. It really is a total hassle trying to do this for more than a few people, Eric and I are still out of pocket for the last lot of shirts KOTR made, so I totally think small groups getting their own thing done is THE way to go. Can't wait to see them when they are finished!

Jake-- might be the wrong season, but with so many new people (some of whom are guys! who might look good in them!), you should remind everyone that shirts are available, what size, price, etc! Maybe direct them to a photo. . . maybe recoup the outlay!

I've done business in Vietnam before, so I'll definitely look into costs of getting something made up there! Maybe a tie-in with the book:rolleyes8 ?
