Fuckin-a Thanksgiving weekend thanks to a bunch of KOTRers and otherwise. . . definitely one of the best ever!!
First off, thanks to Jake for introducing us to Slopine:hungry: . . . a great experience all around and a chance to support a great cause: culinary students! The W1,000 desserts alone are worth the trip. Thanks to Kyung-ah for the delicious homemade berry "wine" afterwards (after driving!!) and to Joe for the Amaretto which went so well with KA's concoction! Joe also provided socks for all and Jake and KA have the best free sleeping arrangements ever!! God I'm going to miss this country and my incredible friends!!
SO Friday, I have to give thanks for Mike (as I am grateful for anyone who can climb on a Friday!!) esp someone as interesting to spend time with, who both ropeguns the hard stuff and convinced me to tie in for the "easier" stuff. . . and gives a patient belay. Never mind that it was raining before we started. . . at least it was a warm November rain we climbed in. . . of course the crux of the day was ordering a half vegetarian (no pineapple corn or potato) and half pepperoni pizza:hungry: ! Hitting the outlet mall (even if we bought nothing on "buy nothing day") felt even more bizzarre. . . we only cjecked out the Mountain Hardware shop in "Nashville, Korea". . .
Sat (after the hard nights rain) was chill. . . I hadn't mosied Icheon in years. . . spent a pleasant afternoon with 2 Dutch engineers, who comped my car-parking at the Miranda Hotel (so I give thanks to Jorgen and Falco!), near enough the bus terminal so I could. . .
spend way longer than I wanted (but duh!! Sat PM going into Seoul!!) on a bus. . . to meet up with Amelia. I have to thank my amazing hostess! We had a blast headbanging (OK, maybe I was the only KOTRer with the hair to really give it a go!!) to David Gold (those of you at the BBQ may remember Amelia's friend. . . who liked the other kind of rock)'s band Necramyth and a few others from the Korean metal/hardcore/punk scene!. . . interesting enough, KOTRers beccablondage and Odyssey also attended the show! I highly recommend Chez Amé when in Sincheon. . .
Sun. . . what a gorgeous day despite the awful forecasts. . . I am thankful for another amazing day. . if a bit hard on the tips. Thanks to Michelle-- our guide to the RB Boulders and inspiration to try them! to Corey. . . more inspiration, spotting and that great suggestion for Indian:hungry: . . . and to Sigi, Amelia, Corey and Michelle for being the chillest coolest (and informative!!) crowd this side of 1980's Boulder, Colorado:rolleyes8
