Just a quick thanks to all who showed up at Seonunsan last weekend for making it another great kotr gathering. Beautiful foliage and warm sunshine on Saturday, enough to host a national photography competition (according to some of the banners). It was great to meet and climb with some of the Mokpo crew, whom I had known only through their posts. I'm also glad to have met Rick (Ricardo), who started the Seonunsan thread. I hope you all had fun on Sunday as well. We went over to the Mun Bawi area and after a bit of snow climbing, decided to come down early.
This was the first time I paid $5 for a motel room (granted, sharing with Sonia, Sigi, Johanna, Colby, Eric, and Hans). Sonia's flaming light show was fun while it lasted (not so fun for the worried minbak owner). The traffic-ridden bus ride back taught me to always take the train on Sunday night.
I hope others will share how their climbing was, and also post some pics, please.

ooh, there was a competition? we saw a ton of guys with huge cameras and tripods by the temple on sunday morning, but we just thought it was a photography club.

i somehow managed to not break out my camera at all over the weekend, so pictures would be greatly appreciated.

i was impressed at how many people came out! the climbing was a bit cold on saturday, especially towards the end of the day, but still a ton of fun. It was nice to meet all sorts of new people.

sunday was wicked cold and we didn't see most of the kotr kids come back to seoksal (?) bawi, although those who did brought excellent american snacks and even climbed a bit (rick, adrienne, dave, and chris). The korean climbers were still there in full force! after doing a cold route and swearing to never touch the rock again in such freezing weather, i watched person after person head up tricky routes and work on problems, seemingly impervious to the cold. Very impressive.
