Hey ya'll,
I just wanted to say that I had a great time this Saturday pulling on the granite with the KOTR crew. 13 boulderers at the 'Bong??? I used to dream about that kind of crew!!! Though I've been here for almost two years, I had never been to one of the meet n' greets, mainly 'cause I'm lazy and apathetic, and because I knew most of you guys already. But I didn't. And after the weekend I now wish I would have gotten out more with ya'll!!
So, without getting too misty and weepy, I wanted to say it was great to meet those that I didn't know, and to see some old faces. Hope to meet up again soon before I hit the dusty trail.
Pico Iyer once wrote, "Globalism made the world the playground of those with no one to play with." Pffft.... Not so far as KOTR is concerned, eh?!!
Anyway, thanks for the BBQ, as well, Dee!
Cheers,
Dave

Hey!
I absolutely agree with Dave, thanks to everyone for the awesome day of bouldering! Being new to Seoul, I don't have very many friends so far. This has been my best weekend in Korea since I finally got to climb outside, I hope there will be many more trips to come! Thanks to Heidi for organizing and hosting a great BBQ Saturday! If anyone ever wants to climb (outside or inside), just e-mail me or send me a private message, i'll be up for it! Take it easy,
Michelle

Right on, it was an absolutely sweet weekend. From seeing old friends and new ones to watching the pebble wrestlers - it was (sad to say) the 1st time I'd seen such a thing in real life, everything was good!
Kim Lee your bbq-ing and bouldering skills are awesome.
Heidi your unflappable hosting and care was divine.
Corey mate, your consumate leading on the 'bong much appreciated.
Colby and Eric thanks mates! Crikey! You're deadset good blokes, no bull!, Kimberly great to see you again, even though we got all mixed up at Ui-Dong.
Dave that article was such a tease! I gotta get me over there to India.
Jess and Kris always a pleasure, let's do a so'central climb again soon.
Sigi, be proud of getting as far as you did on the terrifying 'bong. Headgames up there just take time and experience; you did great anyways!
Michelle twas cool to finally see who the prodest monkey really is. Well deserved moinker that.
Everyone else, be not slighted that I can't recall your names, I have but an Australian brain and a pretty poor memory at that, but you were all cool, and I wanted to say especial thanks to you cats from Kyung Ah for your expressions of "get well soon" etc. She'll be back on rock really soon.

It was great seeing some familiar faces and long lost friends, as well as the new ones. I wish we could have spent more time with you guys, but at least the bbq was fun... and we were able to reunite Dave with his old pad for a brief time of nostalgia. :) Hopefully we can get a few more bouldering trips together before the weather gets frigid. I didn't realize there were that many crash pads in Korea!

let alone that many identical mad rock crash pads!
thanks everyone for coming out! i had no idea that it would get so...organized? big? fun? all of the above? it was awesome to meet everyone at the 'bong, challenge some super fun problems and chill out after...i can definitely say i have never had so many people in my 'umble 'ome at one time before, or even imagined that i could fit that many people in there! (thank goodness for the roof!)
i'm really thankful to everyone for coming and bringing stuff and just making a really great day! i can't name everyone individually, but was happy to meet up and chat with old friends and new;) and i do want to give a special thanks to the fire-starters (daves!), supermarket-runners (kim-lee and ryan!), vegetable-chopper (boom!), extra-grill-bringer (sonia!) and excellent meat-roasters (jo and kim-lee!) who were life-savers for me!!!
looking forward to seeing all of you again! now you know where the place is - drop by whenever you need to crash or eat or want a climbing buddy!

If Kim Lee doesn't bleach his hair ghost white...well, then...I'm simply never talking to him again. Heidi, that is two votes.
PS -- I would settle for fire engine red, as well...

After making it out to Insubong a few weeks ago, I've finally spared some time to post some of the pics I took. Just wanted to get them up. I remember a slew of names, and I'm confident I could put a few to faces, but just in case, I didn't name anybody. Hope to meet up with some of you again before the cold sets in.
Cheers
