Hello, I've been in Korea about a month now and can't seem to find people interested in getting out and climbing. I live in Daegu, Siji area. I know there is a gym in the area, but I want to get outside and climb! Please help

:suspiciou Where exactly are you looking? What about here? On KOTR?!?!? Most weekends there are several posts for trips! You can always come out:) That's pretty much how all of us got to know each other. Since you live in Daegu, pretty much any weekend you could head to Yeokgkyeong-dong (E of Chilgok) and find swarms of climbers.

This weekend, for example, some folks are getting together in Busan; others in Seoul, and others (myself included) in Jeollanam-do (Gurye-gu). Trains and busses run from Daegu to all these places! (Busan's your closest and easiest. . .) Follow these thread, make some calls, and I bet you find people! Many of us are more than willing to help you navigate the transportation system. . . which is pretty advanced, comfortable and easy.

I also live in Daegu, actually in Chilgok. The areas mentioned are all do-able for me, transportation-wise but I don't have any gear beyond shoes. I feel like if I go out to Yeokgyeong-dong by myself I may not find anyone willing to belay me/let me use their gear. If you're one of those people who'd be willing, please let me know if I could meet you some Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks Skinks, I will try to hook up with some KOTR people on my next free weekend. It seems easy enough.

Tigreye, I have gear to climb, but I don't have an extra harness. If you could find a harness (I would even split the cost with you if money is tight) it would make things much easier. Unless you think someone would lend you one? Anyways, the next two weekends I'm traveling out of Daegu, but after that lets go climbing. If you have trouble finding a harness, let me know and I will find one somehow.
