I guess "break-away friction" refers to the point at which the rubber on your climbng shoes slip out from underneath your feet. I've been told by some that from some that friction is better in the colder weather than in warmer weather; however, I've also read that friction is "better" in warmer weather--which might explain why dragsters spin their tires before a race. From my personal experience, I definitely think friction is better in the warmer, not hotter, temperatures. If anyone can shed some factual light on this subject, it'd be interesting.
