Chuncheon Artificial Climbing Wall View Full Version of Chuncheon Artificial Climbing Wall

Province Name: Gangwon-Do
City Name: Chuncheon
Type of Area: Artificial Walls

15m high by 12m wide, this wall was built in early 1997 and seems a bit dated. It's easy enough to find, steep enough for a good workout (holds are a little old and slick) and close to amenities. Floodlights on top at night do little to illuminate the wall (though they make it easy to find). Might be possible to climb up the ladder/scaffolding on back and throw a toprope.

It's a municipal wall, run by Chuncheon Climbers, the local club.

A map to the wall can be found at:

It's even pictured on the Korean Chuncheon Map (titled Information and Map) but not on the English one. South of the city bus terminal . . . follow the road seemingly out of the city to 88 Park.

Additional Comments
It's in a city park so bathrooms, snacks, drinks, fitness parks are all at hand! Not a destination, but if you're in the area then bring your shoes and gear!

Spinny holds, rusty bolts and bee hives (actually on the wall, but have been pulled down now). I'd generally avoid this place, unless you are desperate to scare yourself.

Wait for the new world championship wall to open in September 2010.
