photo Garebi is actually the name of the town located in Uijeongbu. The ice climbing park was previously a quarry and is located just on the outskirts of the small town no more than a few miles. The average length of each fall is roughly twenty-five meters. There are only a few anchors, but plenty of trees to make your own from. All routes are perpendicular from the deck.

Just below the main wall, there is another ice fall roughly ten to fifteen meters in length, too. There are no anchors, however, atop this fall, but plenty of ice to make your ow... [Read More]

Natural ice fall approximately 45M with an anchor at the top and several trees to also build anchors from. This ice fall is not climbed too often due to the scrambly approach and lack of variety in climbing. There is a little bit of potential dry-tooling to the right of the main fall.... [Read More]

Gugok Pokpo
Submitted on February 6th, 2006 by CHOI BAWI Type: Ice Climbs    Province: Gangwon-Do    City: Chuncheon
photo The length of the fall is roughly just over 60M. The ice is typically very good because the fall is hidden from the sun all day round. There are fixed static abseil lines at the top and to the left, a few bolted anchors and a few trees at the top. Roughly five route lines can be climbed without things getting too hectic.

WI 3~4 depending on the ice and traffic throughout the season.... [Read More]

Hwangjeok Pokpo
Submitted on April 6th, 2004 by Eric Type: Ice Climbs    Province: Chungcheongnam-Do    City: Daejeon
photo This is a small wall, about 10-15 meters high and 20 meters wide. The ice on the gently sloping side is thick and solid. On the left hand side there are more interesting features to play around on if the ice is present.

You can fix anchors at the top of the climbs by hiking around the falls. At best 4-5 ropes could be climbed at the same cramped time.... [Read More]

photo this place is basically a huge maunfactured ice wall. some folks have taken the time to rig a piping system that takes water from a nearby river to form a huge waterfall over a 60-70m rock face. in the winter, this waterfall freezes into some fat ice for some rad climbing.... [Read More]

photo A low grade 200m waterfall on the slopes of Unaksan. The first pitch is is WI2. The second pitch is WI3 and the third pitch is WI1. The first pitch is a great place to set up a top rope and introduce beginners to the sport. The greatest thing about this place is that it is not crowded!... [Read More]
