With this wall, opened in 2008, Jeonju has joined the big leagues!!

Seventeen meters high, fully covered, with a little side wall for bouldering. . . it's open everyday. . . W1000 and equipment is available (check with the office in the back).

전주시 완산구 중인동 완산생활체육공원 (Jeonju, Wansan-gu, Jungin-dong, Wansan Athletic Park) is being built in the far SW part of the city. If you're heading S on Pyeonghwano (27) exit right near the 27/Gui/Wandang-dong IC, and head past Wandang-dong. It's easy from Jeonju to follow the Samcheon (western river that runs N-S through town) crossing to the west bank through the more rural restaurant area. Keep left when the road forks, heading to
중인동. The park and the wall will be obvious and visible!

The bus stops at Hakjeon and Jungin-dong are nearest. The 87, 88, and 89 all pass by.

Additional Comments
There are heated rest-rooms, changing/shower area and a drinking water fountain, but nearby but the park is quite the complex, and other sports facilities and vending machines are available on-site.

Does anyone have some more information about this? I've got a few people who are interested in trying out climbing, and I've been meaning to get over to this place sometime. I'm wondering if you can pay by day and how much it is, if you can rent shoes, and if there's someone there to show you "the ropes" (no pun intended The people who want to go with me are newbies, but I don't feel totally confident being the one to show them how to get started.

Hi i'm new to Korea I live in Iksan which is not far rom Jeonju, i really want to continue climbing whilst i'm here. I was wondering how i can climb on this wall, do i need to join a club or can i just pay and climb? i have shoes and a harness etc with me but no rope, is it possible to borrow a rope? If someone could let me know the details i would really appreciate it, my e-mail address is [email protected]
