Submitted on June 26th, 2004 by Kanzianiberg Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Chungcheongbuk-Do    City: Cheongju
photo There are only 4 routes on this granite rock. The 3 slab routes do have new bolts and anchors, the one crack route has only one bolt (what I could tell from the bottom). Quality of rock seems to be very good and it's about 10-15m high.... [Read More]

photo Rock: mixed granite. Some of it crumbles easy while other is strong and tight like .. ah nevermind
One theme of this rock is there are many small holes in areas so it is great for feet holds.
Other areas aren't likethat at all and resemble typical granite style

Songnisan is one beautiful and mystic place. As soon as you step off the bus you are refreshed with pine scented air.

If you hike the trails you will frequently come across restaurants. And at the top the view is fantastic.

Enjoy searching for boulders even outside the park gr... [Read More]

photo Nice quality roadside crag with something for everyone in 22 routes. Face climbing with some corners, edges, even some cracks .Bouldery starts and a little run-out on some (easier) routes. Then there are some overhanging routes, and finally, some massively overhanging roofs, several with big juggy holds. Grades to 12a. Everything is accessable via a short scramble to the top, so no worries about leaving draws if you want to jump on something hard The longest route is 16 meters, but that figures in severe roof/overhangs. The shortest routes ar... [Read More]

Yeong Dong Ice Park (영동 인공빙폭)
Submitted on January 9th, 2007 by shanja Type: Ice Climbs    Province: Chungcheongbuk-Do    City: Daejeon
photo This is a newly developed man-made ice wall about 40mins from Daejeon, in YeongDong Gun. It officially opens January 13th/14th 2007. It has been made by the combined efforts of Daejeon "Fifteen Climbing" Gym boss Han Sanghoon, some Daejeon climbers and some Yeong Dong climbers. Water pipes were rigged up a steep/overhung rock face and dripped, much like similar parks at Garebi, Inje and so on. It was hard work. A foot bridge over the river was also built by local Yeong Dong Gun government workers to replace the pontoon-boat device (see pics).
