Ace Climbing center
Submitted on July 27th, 2005 by wandering Type: Gyms    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Seoul
photo Basement Gym with cut out in the roof with some short lead or top rope problems. It has a cave in the center and most of the walls are overhung, but there is a "beginner" area. The people are nice and some of them speak a little english. I've seen everything from beginner lessons to a core of very strong regulars who justify the overhung conditions. There variety of training gear, from weights to fingerboards, though much of it is hung upside down or on inclines. It gets VERY hot in here in the summer months.

Coaching is available for a... [Read More]

Submitted on April 4th, 2007 by skinsk Type: Artificial Walls    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Anyang
photo This was one of the first municipal walls to pop up on a major stadium in the mid-1990s. It still draws local climbers and some competitions, though even with recent renovations it shows it's age.

10 meters wide X 15 meters high, the main wall overhangs 110-135 degrees. There is a shorter, almost vertical wall on the side, so beginners need not be too intimidated.... [Read More]

photo There are three main areas to climb at Baekeun Dae, Baekun Dae Slab, NW Face and NW Face Upper Section. Baekun Slab is primarily used as an instructive top-roping crag during the weekends by several climbing clubs. There is a variety of cracks and slab in this area ranging from 5.6 to 5.9 in difficulty. The Baekun NW Headwall has an upper and lower area. The routes range from 5.6 to 5.10/A0 in difficulty.... Boramae Park Climbing Wall
Submitted on June 5th, 2006 by skinsk Type: Artificial Walls    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Seoul
photo 15 meters high: slightly-less than vertical, vertical, overhanging and near-roof routes. Boramae was one of 8 parks in Seoul to be renovated with climbing walls and other public use facilities as part of a city wide parks master plan.

The wall is gated, and unlike many walls you can join this one or pay a W1000 use fee.

Looks almost the same as Danggogae, but the roof covers a wee bit more on top.

Open 10:00-21:00.

There is a W1,000 per-use fee (memberships available) and a liability waiver to be signed (in Korean, of course).... [Read More]
