What is KOTR?
KoreaOnTheRocks.com (KOTR) is dedicated to providing information to foreign rock and ice climbers living in South Korea.

Where does all the info come from?
Since the spring of 2004, foreign rock climbers living in Korea have been submitting climbing areas, photos, maps and other valuable info to the site. Without everyone's input this site wouldn't exist.

Is there really climbing in Korea?
Tons! There have been 219 areas added to the site already!

I've never climbed but I want to try. How can I start?
A lot of climbers start in Korea because the foreign and Korean climbing communities are very open, it's very cheap and climbing is never far away. To get started, check out what Upcoming Trips forum and come join us on our next climb.

I only like rock/ice/the indoors/short things/tall, orange things. Is there climbing for me?
Pick your poison, Korea has almost every type of climbing available. From the boulders at Insubong to the sea cliffs on Jeju-Do, from man-made rock walls to indoor ice walls. It's all here.
